Egg hunts, bonnets part of Easter tradition

Several Abbotsford community groups and businesses are hosting Easter-themed events.

It's Easter weekend and that means egg hunts and other events are being held by various local organizations.

It’s Easter weekend and many local organizations are gearing up for family -friendly events.

The annual Straiton Community Club Easter Egg Hunt takes place March 30 at 11:15  a.m. Tickets for the hunt are available in advance at  BigFoot Moccasin (corner of George Ferguson Way and Gladys Avenue) or Clayburn Village Store in Clayburn Village. If the event sells out, a second hunt takes place at 1:15 p.m. Tickets are $5.

Another egg hunt taking place this weekend is the inaugural Easter Egg-stravaganza at Maan Farms.

This event runs March 30-31 and features the egg hunt, face painting, a petting zoo and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny. Maan Farms is located at 790 McKenzie Rd. For more information visit:

A third egg hunt is set for April 1 at Play Abby Indoor Playground.

The hunt is set for 9:30 a.m. and a second takes place at noon. Play Abby is located at #5 - 2043 Abbotsford Way. For more information visit:

If you want to try something a little different, and more artistic, then The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford is presenting the Bunnies and Bonnets Easter Crafting on March 30.

The event is free and runs from noon to 3 p.m. Learn how to make Easter bonnets and Origami bunnies at The Reach, 32388 Veterans Way.
