Earls Restaurant is closing the doors of its Abbotsford restaurant after more than 15 years at its current location.
The restaurant, located at the 32900 block of South Fraser Way at the Sevenoaks Shopping Centre, opened the location in July of 1997 and will close at the end of October.
Cate Simpson, communications manager for Earls, said the Abbotsford restaurant was unable to secure a long-term lease at the current location, which needed extensive renovations. She added that it is unlikely the restaurant will open another location in Abbotsford.
"I don't know if Abbotsford will be rebuilt. They tend to take a few years before they can find new locations that work for (Earls). At the moment we are concentrating on opening new locations in the U.S."
Simpson said the Vancouver-based, family-run business generally takes their time in looking for prime locations.
"It would have been ideal to have a new location found in Abbotsford before closing, but unfortunately, we were unable to secure the lease."
