One of two Abbotsford brothers charged with a series of break-ins last year has been sentenced in another case.

Dane Dorozan, 35, received 18 months’ probation and a $1,000 fine last Friday in Abbotsford provincial court. He was initially charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, but was convicted on the lesser charge of drug possession.

Dane still faces charges with his brother Darwin, 36, for 21 break-ins allegedly committed in Surrey, Langley and White Rock.

The pair were arrested Aug. 15 following a home break-in in South Surrey. Dane was later charged with two counts of break-and-enter, and Darwin was charged with 19 counts of break-and-enter, one count of possession of stolen property, and one count of assault with a weapon.

Dane has previously been convicted of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and break-and-enter.

Darwin’s previous convictions include possession of stolen property, theft, possession for trafficking, and break-and-enter.
