The second fire this year at the abandoned Allwood Estates Mobile Home Park in Abbotsford took place on Sunday night.

Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service crews were called out at about 10:30 p.m. to the park on Allwood Street, next to the Real Canadian Superstore.

A trailer and nearby trees and bush were fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived. The fire was spreading quickly due to the dry conditions, but firefighters quickly attacked the flames and spread water on the mini mall next door to keep them from spreading.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time, although squatters have been known to use the trailers.

The first fire at the site this year took place in February, destroying an older trailer on the property.
