Crews from Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service were called to a house fire early Monday morning on Hollywood Avenue in central Abbotsford.
The incident took place at about 1 a.m. When crews arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the home, and a fire was discovered in a basement bedroom of the single-family residence.
Firefighters broke a window, and were able to contain the fire, although smoke damage was sustained throughout the home.
Nobody was injured in the fire. The exact cause is not yet known, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
