Crews from Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service were called to put out a blaze on Monday night at the homeless protest camp on Gladys Avenue.
The fire took place at about 7 p.m. When crews arrived, a tent at the site was fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire, and nobody was injured.
The cause of the blaze is not known at this time.
Occupants of the site were recently given an eviction notice by the city, which has indicated that the Gladys Avenue right-of-way is designated as a highway.
The eviction notice took effect last Wednesday, but a handful of tents remain on the property. Mayor Henry Braun has said the city will take a “gradual approach” toward dismantling the camp and has not yet applied for a court injunction for a forced eviction of the remaining campers.
The area has had several similar fires over the last couple of years, including ones last March and August.
