Authorities are so far staying mum about the contents of a safe that was opened after police searched a home on Lilac Crescent (south of Hillcrest Avenue) in central Abbotsford on Thursday night.
Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service received a call at about 9 p.m. to assist Abbotsford Police officers at the home.
When fire crews arrived, police had moved a safe out to the carport of the residence.
They used a reciprocating saw to open it, and then two officers placed the safe in a large plastic container and moved it back into the home.
Police are not yet revealing what was in the safe or why they were at the home.
