A Chilliwack woman plans to take a bite out of the Big Apple after scoring a sizable lottery win.

Megan Stoker turned $5 into $100,000 recently with a scratch-and-win Bank It ticket.

“I was at home sitting at the kitchen table when I found out I had won,” Stoker recalled. “My first thought was ‘this can’t be real.’

“I just kept staring at it.”

Stoker, who bought her ticket at the Safeway attached to the Chilliwack Mall on Luckakuck Way, was most excited to tell her parents about the win.

“My mom gasped and said ‘no way,’” Stoker said.

While she plans to use most of her winnings as a down payment on a home, the windfall will also pay for her lifelong dream vacation to New York City.
