Chilliwack RCMP are asking for help to find a suspect in an alleged hit and run.

The incident happened shortly after 2 a.m. on Mar. 20. Police received a report of a pedestrian getting struck by a car at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Nowell Street in downtown Chilliwack. A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains there, in serious but stable condition.

RCMP believe a dark-coloured Honda Civic may be connected to the incident, and they’re hoping to find home security or dash cam video taken between the hours of 1 and 3 a.m. that morning.

“We are reaching out to residents and motorists, asking anyone who may have captured images to contact us,” said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail. “As well, anyone with information regarding a dark coloured Honda Civic in the area that morning is asked to contact police.”

Reach the RCMP by phone at 604-792-4611 or call Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). When calling in, reference file number 2021-11253
