One of the two men who were arrested after a home invasion last month involving an 89-year-old woman had his charges stayed in court on Tuesday.

Cyril Howe, 28, had been charged with robbery and break-and-enter. Co-accused Clarke Doherty, 26, next appears April 11 in Abbotsford provincial court on the same charges.

The victim was sleeping when the door of her apartment in the 2000 block of Gladwin Road was kicked in at about 1:45 a.m. on March 13. A man entered her bedroom and demanded cash before fleeing.

The woman was not physically harmed. Neighbours called police and provided a description of the get-away car. Two men were arrested about one kilometre from the scene.
