Charges were laid Wednesday against two men allegedly involved in an incident at a comedy show in March at the Abbotsford Arts Centre.
Chamkaur Singh Sidhu, 36, was charged with mischief, and resisting or obstructing a police officer. His brother Jasminder Singh Sidhu, 34, was charged with causing bodily harm and assault with intent to resist arrest.
The charges stem from a scuffle that occurred March 18 after a South Asian comedy show, Naughty Baba Back in Town, was cancelled due to concerns about too many tickets having been sold for the number of seats available.
Many people had not yet been seated when the cancellation was announced. A man then smashed a window in the entrance door to the Abbotsford Arts Centre, cutting himself, police said.
Another man turned on officers who had been called to the scene.
Two officers were injured. One was kicked and punched, and the other was hit by glass shards in his face and eyes, a police press release said at the time.
The two accused are next scheduled to appear in Abbotsford provincial court on June 30 for an arraignment hearing.
