A proposed new apartment building in central Abbotsford will head to a public hearing – sometime.

Council expressed no concerns last week about a narrow six-storey, 34-unit apartment building proposed to be constructed on Mt. Waddington Avenue, just west of city hall.

The building would squeeze between two existing apartment buildings. Its roof would include a recreational area with a bocce court, ping-pong table and kid’s play house, according to drawings included in staff’s presentation to council at a recent council meeting.

More than a third of the units would have three bedrooms, which are relatively scarce in Abbotsford.

A public hearing will eventually be held before council makes a final decision on the project.
