Cat burglar breaks into Abbotsford home

Incident occurred in the early morning of July 13

Police are investigating after an early morning break and enter which occurred on July 13 (Sunday).

The Abbotsford Police Department issued a new release stating that the suspect(s) gained entry into a residence in the 33900 block of Fern St.

The occupants were asleep in the home and did not come into contact with the suspect(s), who left the home with a purse.

Police say that although “cat burglaries” are rare, they are concerning to police and the community because of the potential for conflict between the occupants of the home and those breaking in.

Police are reminding residents that with the warmer weather, people should be mindful of the potential dangers of leaving the windows and doors open or unlocked.
