Camper fire on Highway 11 in Abbotsford

A motorist who was initially unaware that his camper was on fire continued to drive through Abbotsford on Thursday morning before pulling over.

A call came in at about 10:30 a.m. to Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service that a driver was travelling north on the Sumas Way/Highway 11 bypass while his camper was on fire.

The driver pulled over just past the Clayburn Road exit. Crews quickly arrived on the scene and extinguished the blaze. Nobody was hurt, and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
