Brush fire near Alex Fraser Bridge causes early morning traffic jam

Highway 17 also affected by unrelated collision Tuesday night

A brush fire before the Alex Fraser Bridge on the morning of Wednesday, July 17 caused the right lane to be blocked.

A brush fire in North Delta, just before the Alex Fraser Bridge, has now been extinguished.

According to Drive BC on X (formerly Twitter), a westbound brush fire blocked the right lane before the bridge.

Fire crews successfully extinguished the fire and were able to clear the right lane going onto the Alex Fraser Bridge.

A portion of Highway 17 was also affected Tuesday (July 16) night after a collision between a two tractor-trailer trucks, causing closure of the area that is still persisting Wednesday morning.
