Chilliwack Search and Rescue helped save several people Sunday night (Nov. 12) after their home on Wilson Road was badly damaged by flooding.

The house was supposed to be protected by a nearby dike, but water rose over the barrier and poured down to surround the home.

“I am able to confirm that we were tasked by Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department last night to help bring over a family on Wilson Road who were trapped in their home by flood waters cutting them off,” said Chilliwack SAR’s Matthew Goodyear.

A person who took pictures of the devastated house told The Progress that there were also people staying in an RV behind the home who had to be rescued, and all vehicles on the property were swept away.
