Abbotsford Police released video stills in early December of a woman they said used false ID to withdraw cash from two banks.

A woman caught on surveillance video at two banks while allegedly committing identity theft is wanted on two outstanding warrants for her arrest.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the woman, 39-year-old Lori Marjorie Viani, has managed to evade police since photos of her were released in early December.

A suspect used ID stolen from an Abbotsford woman to withdraw $8,000 in funds from two Bank of Montreal branches in Maple Ridge and New Westminster.

Police at the time said they believed the female culprit was part of an identity-theft fraud ring.

Provincial court records show that Viani was charged with fraud and impersonation in Langley in July 2010, and a warrant was issued because she failed to make her first court appearance.

She was charged again in November 2010 in New Westminster with three counts of fraud over $5,000, identity theft, possession of stolen property, causing a person to use a forged document, and breaching her conditions for failing to appear in court.

Viani has previous convictions for possession/use of a stolen credit card, assault and possession of stolen property over $5,000 in 1996; and theft of under $5,000 in 1999.

She does not show up again in B.C. court records until 2008.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.
