The arctic outflow warning remains in effect this morning (Tuesday) for the Fraser Valley, according to Environment Canada.

Wind chill values of minus 15 to minus 20 will continue this morning, moderate slightly this afternoon, and develop once again overnight and persist through Wednesday morning.

Forecasters say northeasterly winds, gusting at times to 70 km/h, are expected into Wednesday.

The wind chill and high winds can be attributed to an arctic ridge of high pressure that is building southward over the B.C. Interior, giving arctic outflow to parts of the coast, says Environment Canada.

Here is the complete forecast for today and tomorrow for the area:

– Today: Sunny. Wind northeast ranging from 30 km/h to 50 to start, but gusting up to 70 km/h this morning. High minus 1. Wind chill minus 18.

– Tonight: Clear. Wind northeast gusting from 50 km/h to 70. High minus 1. Wind child minus 20.

– Tomorrrow day: Sunny. Wind northeast 50 to 70 km/h. High minus 1. Wind chill minus 20.

– Tomorrow night: Clear. Low minus 7.
