Another pedestrian accident in Abbotsford

Two women suffered minor injuries after being struck by a car while they were in a crosswalk in Abbotsford.

Another accident at a crosswalk is a reminder that drivers and pedestrians need to be more cautious, says Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald.

Two women, both 20, were struck by a Dodge Caliber on Tuesday at about 2:45 p.m. The vehicle was heading west on Simon Avenue and was making a left turn onto Trethewey Street, while the women had the right-of-way in the crosswalk, MacDonald said.

Both women had minor injuries.

A 12-year-old boy suffered serious lower body injuries when he was hit by a garbage truck on Jan. 4 while using a crosswalk at the corner of Bevan Avenue and Ware Street.
