A man recently charged with a series of cat burglaries in Abbotsford has been sentenced for previous offences.

Clayton Brian Kopeck, 18, received an additional one day in prison, on top of the nine days he had already served, as well as one year’s probation for two counts of theft under $5,000 (on June 6 and 25)  and breach of his probation.

He was sentenced July 20 in Abbotsford provincial court.

Kopeck remains in prison while he awaits court proceedings on three counts of break and enter on July 3, 4 and 5.

It is alleged that, on those days, Kopeck entered homes through sliding glass doors while the occupants were sleeping and stole jewelry, cash and electronics. His next court appearance on those charges is July 27.
