Some locations in Abbotsford are now accepting all lighting products for recycling at no charge.

B.C. is the first province in Canada to adopt the comprehensive recycling program, which began Oct. 1.

Since 2010, LightRecycle has accepted residential-use fluorescent lights at collection sites across B.C. The program has now expanded to include all types of lights.

Abbotsford has seven collection sites: Abbotsford Community Services Recycling (33670 Valley Rd.), Canadian Tire (32513 South Fraser Way), London Drugs (32700 South Fraser Way), Regional Recycling Abbotsford (750 Riverside Dr.), Rona (32073 South Fraser Way and 34530 McConnell Rd.) and Wilway Lumber (28728 Fraser Hwy.).

There are two sites in Abbotsford for residential light fixtures: Regional Recycling (750 Riverside Rd.)  and R & T Recyclables and Bottle Depot (31550 South Fraser Way).
