An air quality advisory issued for the eastern Fraser Valley and parts of Metro Vancouver has been cancelled.

The air quality index was expected to hit five later today. However, cooler temperatures and strong winds helped improve conditions, said Metro Vancouver, which monitors air quality throughout the Lower Mainland.

The advisory was issued Thursday as wildfires and low level ozone combined to create conditions that posed a “moderate health risk” for people in the region.
