Traffic is backed up on Highway 1 following a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday after 11 a.m.
A white Ford Ranger truck was involved in the crash at the Sumas Way off-ramp on Highway 1 heading westbound.
RCMP freeway patrol has responded to the accident and the Sumas exit is currently closed.
It appears the truck was the only vehicle involved. The vehicle was facing the opposite direction on the road with damage to the front end, though it is unclear what the vehicle hit.
As of 11:30 a.m., traffic is currently backed up to Whatcom Road.
According to witnesses, the driver was taken away by ambulance.
