Abbotsford’s Agrifair weekend another success

Attendance figures still being tallied but stands were packed for many of the attractions

These alpacas were on display as part of the Agriland feature at the Abbotsford Agrifair and Mighty Fraser Rodeo. The annual event ran from Friday to Monday at Abbotsford Exhibition Park.

Attendance figures aren’t yet tallied for this weekend’s Agrifair, but general manager Pamela Brenner said the event was a big success again this year.

“It was a great weekend,” she said.

The event ran from Friday to Monday at Exhibition Park under clear skies and high temperatures.

Brenner said the stands were packed all weekend for several of the featured activities, including Alberta Miniature Chuckwagon Racing, the West Coast Lumberjack Shows, the Mighty Fraser Rodeo and the demolition derby.

She said the musical entertainment was also popular, including the Dream Fleetwood Mac tribute show on Saturday and a concert drawing a crowd of 2,000 on Sunday night featuring Christian singer-songwriter Laura Story.

Attendance figures are expected to be released later this week.
