A day of skipping school ended with three Abbotsford teens getting rides home in a police car.

A day of skipping school ended with three Abbotsford teens getting rides home in a police car.

Const. Ian MacDonald said two boys, ages 13 and 15, and a 15-year-old girl decided to skip school on Wednesday and hang out in a playhouse in a yard on McKinley Drive. None of them lived there.

MacDonald said the trio came up with the idea of surrounding the playhouse with solar patio lights, and they began scouring the neighbourhood to find some. A resident then reported seeing the three wandering through yards, and phoned police.

Officers found the group with the lights and a bong, and the teens were turned over to their parents.

Anyone who is missing solar patio lights is invited to call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225 to have them returned.
