The Abbotsford school district has announced that schools will again be closed Monday.
The district posted the following message just after 4 p.m. on its website:
“All District facilities will be Closed for Tuesday, February 7th, 2017. While members of our winter services team spent the day clearing snow from many school parking lots and sidewalks, the volume of snow we received will prevent us from safely returning to a regular school schedule.”
Winter services personnel have expected to report to work for the district.
Meanwhile, the University of the Fraser Valley has also cancelled Tuesday classes at all of its campuses at the Fraser Valley.
It will mark the fourth consecutive day UFV campuses have been closed. “Crews working hard to clear snow,” the University said in a tweet, but noted that the huge amount of volume and difficult road conditions led to the closure.
