Abbotsford remembers

On Friday Nov. 11, locals gathered at the Abbotsford Cenotaph to pay homage to war veterans.

This past Remembrance Day, locals gathered at the Abbotsford Cenotaph to pay homage to war veterans and to remember those who gave their lives in sacrifice.

The event started with the bugle call "The Last Post," and continued with two minutes of silence.

Master of ceremonies Don Stevenson, a past Royal Canadian Air Force pilot, read the names of fallen soldiers, after which wreaths were laid.

Despite a rainy morning, the service garnered a large crowd, of men, women and children who applauded when the veterans marched out of the square.
