The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) has added "Don't Use Your Phone" stickers to all of its marked police vehicles as a reminder for citizens to leave their phones alone while driving.
Const. Paul Walker said the initiative is part of the APD's "continued goal to bring awareness to road safety along with the dangers in using an electronic device while driving."
Using a handheld device while driving can net a $167 violation ticket.
"Distracted driving is a contributing factor in many collisions, which are avoidable in many ways," Walker said.
