One man was arrested after Abbotsford Police executed a search warrant at a home in the 33900 block of Old Yale Road.

Members of the Drug Enforcement Unit, assisted by the Emergency Response Team, entered the house at about 7:45 p.m. on Thursday (May 9) night.

Thirty-three marijuana plants and about a quarter pound of marijuana bud was found.

"Charges of cultivation and possession for the purposes of trafficking will be recommended," said Abbotsford Const. Ian MacDonald.

Last year, eight B.C. mayors joined a campaign calling for the legalization of marijuana.
