Police are trying to track down the suspect who brandished a knife and made off with cash from Canadian Western Bank in Abbotsford on Monday afternoon.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the incident occurred at about 3:15 p.m. on Valentine’s Day in the 2500 block of Clearbrook Road. A man carrying a knife demanded cash from a teller.

As the employee turned to go to the central cash area, the man spoke to another cashier and then opened the door separating the employee area from the customer section.

He followed the two employees to the central cash area and helped himself to an undisclosed amount before fleeing on foot.

The man is described as Caucasian, between the ages of 20 and 30, about 5′ 10″ to six feet tall, and clean-shaven.

He was wearing thick black-rimmed glasses – believed to be a disguise – and a white hoodie with red lettering that said “Cage Fighter” on the front and “BJ Penn” (a Ultimate Fighting Championship competitor) on the back.

He was also wearing jeans and black-and-white skater-style shoes.
