The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) has launched its third poster in the Operation X series which is aimed at informing youths about the dangers of using street drugs.

The poster depicts the potential tragic outcome of street-drug use and challenges young people to "Be the life of the party, not the death."

"We think that this is an important message to be shared with young people in advance of spring break and before the graduation season is in full swing," said Const. Ian MacDonald in a press release.

The release of the poster coincides with the release of the Punjabi version of the APD's documentary film "Operation X – The Straight Goods on E."

That film, which will be released nationally this year, was made following the ecstasy-related deaths in late 2011 of Cheryl McCormack, 17, and Tyler Miller, 20, of Abbotsford.
