Abbotsford Police officer receives $2,000 scholarship

An Abbotsford police officer was awarded the $2,000 Paul Tinsley Scholarship at Monday’s police board meeting.

Const. Leisa Shea was presented with the award in recognition of her studies at Trinity Western University towards her master’s degree in leadership.

Shea has been with the Abbotsford Police Department since 2000 and has served with the traffic unit, the Integrated Road Safety Unit and the patrol division.

In 2008, she was recognized as the officer with the most impaired driving arrests in the Lower Mainland. She has also presented seminars for municipal police and the RCMP on impaired driving.
