Abbotsford Police make major traffic announcement

The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) made a major announcement this morning regarding left turns in the city.

Const. Ian MacDonald said, as of today, drivers will be billed for every left turn they make, at a cost of $2.57.

” … there’s a change in some of the road and traffic conditions in Abbotsford,” said Const. Ian MacDonald in addressing the reason for the initiative.

As part of the program, drivers are able to purchase decals on a weekly, monthly or annual basis.

At the beginning of this year, the APD identified road safety as its top priority for 2014.
