The Abbotsford Police Department has launched a new radio system, which is already receiving rave reviews from officers, according to Const. Ian MacDonald.

The digital E-Comm system began last week, replacing the former analog system and providing better transmission among officers and dispatch.

MacDonald said police previously lost communication in areas such as in Bradner and Sumas Prairie but that is no longer the case. The system is currently in a test period before its full launch in early October.
