Police looking for suspect involved in fight outside a nightclub

Whistler RCMP are trying to track down a suspect who stabbed a 30-year-old Abbotsford man during a fight outside a nightclub on Wednesday night.

Sgt. Rob Knapton said in a press release that patrons were leaving the Max Fish nightclub at about 2 a.m. when an altercation occurred.

The fight continued as it moved down Main Street, where the suspect pulled out a knifed, stabbed the victim in the stomach and fled.

The victim was taken to the Whistler Medical Clinic for treatment and released.

Police were unable to find the suspect. Knapton said it is believed he was with three other people and is described as being in his 20s, about 5' 8" and stocky with short blonde hair and tattoos on both shoulders. At the time of the offence, he was shirtless and wearing blue jeans.
