An Abbotsford man has been sentenced to one year in prison for two child pornography offences.

Eric Andrew Ellingsen, 29, was sentenced Jan. 27 in Abbotsford provincial court for the possession of child porn and for accessing child porn.

A third charge of importing or distributing child porn was stayed.

Ellingsen’s sentence will be followed by two years of probation.

He was arrested in September 2015 after the Abbotsford Police Department’s major crime unit conducted an online investigation into the accessing and sharing of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children.

In the weeks that followed, investigators identified Ellingsen as a possible suspect. They then obtained a search warrant for his residence, where they seized CDs, DVDs, phones and computers.

Ellingsen pleaded guilty to two of the charges on June 13, 2016.
