Abbotsford man injured while cleaning rifle

Calls police, saying gun accidentally discharged.

An Abbotsford man will make a full recovery after suffering a gunshot wound on Tuesday evening.

Const. Ian MacDonald said Abbotsford Police received a call from the man from his residence on Vinewood Street at about 6:15 p.m.

The man, 53, said he had been cleaning his rifle when it accidentally discharged and injured him.

MacDonald would not confirm the specifics of the injury.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
