Abbotsford man, 21, dies six days after crash

One person was airlifted to hospital following a two-car crash Tuesday night in Abbotsford.

A young man who was airlifted following a two-car crash in Abbotsford on June 16 died from his injuries on Monday afternoon.

The 21-year-old, whose identity has not been released, passed away in hospital.

The crash took place just after 11 p.m. on Lower Sumas Mountain Road. Police, fire and ambulance crews arrived at the scene to find one of the cars on its side, wrapped around a telephone pole.

The two occupants had to be extricated from the vehicle. The 21-year-old was airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital.

The other victim was taken by ground ambulance to Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

Police have not released any further details.
