Abbotsford Liberal hopeful Madeleine Hardin joined other newly selected candidates and incumbent MPs on stage Tuesday night during Michael Ignatieff’s address to supporters.

Before the Liberal rally, which was held in Richmond, Ignatieff spent a few minutes with each new candidate for pictures and words of encouragement.

“He’s here for me. And for you,” said Hardin. “It makes me very happy,” she continued, “that the Liberals are united to reach out to Canadians with a ‘campaign of hope’, not fear. I am proud to be fighting for a progressive, compassionate and ethical government—a Liberal government that values elders, education and our democratic process over prisons, corporate tax cuts and autocratic rule.”
