Abbotsford blood donor clinics for January still have open spaces

Canada’s blood supply is low due in part to snowstorms that led to cancelled appointments in December

The recent winter storms wiped out more than just the roads. It also played a part in depleting the Canadian blood supply.

Now, Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is asking people to consider donating, and there are several dates and locations coming up in Abbotsford.

The first available appointments are on Jan. 12 at the Garden Park Tower (Clearbrook Golden Age Society) at 101-2825 Clearbrook Rd. As of publication time, there were more than a dozen appointments available and mostly in the evening.

CBS will also have a drive at Emmanuel Mennonite Church on Jan. 24, located at 3471 Clearbrook Rd. There are more than 30 time slots available for that day.

For those willing to drive a bit, there is also a blood donor clinic in Aldergrove on Jan. 14 and Mission on Jan. 29.

There are numerous blood donor clinics throughout February and March as well. To see a full calendar of clinics, find out if you are eligible and to book a time slot, myaccount.blood.ca/en.
