Abbotsford accident sends woman to hospital

A woman was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Townline Road and Blueridge Drive Sunday morning.


A 76-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital and remains in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle while she was in a marked crosswalk.

Abbotsford emergency services personnel responded to the intersection of Townline Road and Blueridege Drive Sunday around 11 a.m.

The woman was hit by a vehicle that was attempting to make a left turn eastbound onto Blueridge Drive. The 21-year-old man driving the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police, according to Abbotsford Police Department spokesperson Const. Paul Walker.

Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service and BC Ambulance provided medical treatment until the woman was transported to hospital via air ambulance.
