$30 million ticket sold in Abbotsford

The winner of Friday night's $30 million Lotto Max draw had purchased the winning ticket in the city.

A $30 million lottery prize won in Abbotsford has not yet been claimed.

The earliest the winner can step forward is Tuesday, as B.C. Lottery Corporation (BCLC) offices were closed for the Easter holiday long weekend.

BCLC spokesman Chris Fairclough said he could not reveal which retailer sold the winning Lotto Max ticket – announced in Friday's draw – until after the recipient steps forward.

The winner has up to a year to claim his or her prize.

Fairclough said the largest lottery prize ever won in B.C. is a $50 million Lotto Max prize from October 2010. The record in Canada is a $54 million 6/49 pot won in Alberta in October 2005.

Former big lottery winners from Abbotsford include Ivan Catchpaw, who claimed a $9.5 million Lotto Max jackpot in March 2010, and Rachel Paimen, who won $2 million that same month in BC/49.

The winning ticket numbers from Friday's draw are 15, 18, 19, 25, 32, 42 and 49. The bonus number was 43.
