Vancouver's inaugural Global Lifestyle Expo, organized by the Global Conference Alliance Inc., during June 15 and 16 was a resounding success, bringing together a receptive crowd for professional networking and creating a space for cultural diversity .
Under the theme “Networking across cultures,” this year's expo at UBC Robson Square attracted 30 small and medium-sized enterprises from Canada and around the world, in sectors ranging from fashion and infrastructure, to tourism and food products.
Designed to encourage new cultural exchanges and business collaborations, the event's organizers were thrilled with the active participation and enthusiasm displayed by vendors.
“We are excited to have been able to arrange a successful event, bringing together a rich mixture of cultures and fostering meaningful connections,” says Rehnuma Siddique, Business Development Officer at the Global Conference Alliance.
The booths and engaging presentations contributed significantly to the atmosphere of exchange and collaboration for entrepreneurs and business professionals alike.
A highlight of the expo was the presentation of the “Top 10 BC Immigrant Awards 2024,” honouring the accomplishments and celebrating the contributions of immigrants in various sectors across British Columbia.
Among the 10 people honoured were Ron Mundi for his impressive corporate transformations in the service, tourism and accommodations sector, Muhaddisa Sarwari for her work with transition houses, Clifford Belgica, for his community work. These awards seek to recognize members of the immigrant community who have fostered social cohesion and cultural integration within their community and/or workplace.
“Congratulations to all the award winners on their well-deserved awards. Their contributions are an inspiration to many,” Siddique adds.
Attendees were not short of praise for the expo, highlighting the numerous networking opportunities and the insights gained from interacting with established companies. The event facilitated growth for new businesses and set the stage for future partnerships.
“The connections I made here are not just beneficial for my business but are also quite inspiring on a personal level,” one attendee shared .
