In partnership with Variety – The Children’s Charity of BC, Midland Appliance hosted the first annual kick-off event for the Show of Hearts Telethon at their Abbotsford showroom on Feb. 11.

More than 100 people from the Fraser Valley Community stopped by Midland’s newest showroom, located in the heart of historic downtown Abbotsford on South Fraser Way and Montrose Avenue, ready to mingle and introduce their taste buds to a truly phenomenal spread of food courtesy of Culinary Team Canada.

Although these award-winning chefs have been cooking for many years, this special event marked the first time that they worked together as a team ahead of their four-year adventure of representing Canada at various prestigious local and international culinary competitions.

The menu included delicious dishes like oysters, pan-seared scallops, speck-wrapped lamb loin, spiced duck breast, five-spiced pork belly, Paris-Brest and much more, with many of the dishes prepared using Fisher & Paykel luxury appliances in Midland’s live kitchen. Guests also had the opportunity to bid on several silent auction items, with all proceeds benefiting Variety and the Show of Hearts Telethon.

Jaclyn St. Pierre, head of marketing for Midland Appliance, explained the company’s commitment to hosting events that support both community connections and meaningful causes.

“We have always approached our events with purpose,” St. Pierre said. “Midland is proud to serve as more than just a showroom. We believe in creating opportunities that engage the community and have a lasting impact. It’s not just about showcasing our luxury kitchen appliances; it’s about giving back, forming lasting partnerships and supporting causes that truly make a difference."

Midland has long been a supporter of charitable initiatives and has hosted numerous community events across all four of its B.C. showrooms. Over the years, these events have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various organizations and causes, furthering Midland's mission to support its local communities.
