Single vehicle crash causes power outage in Abbotsford

Driver being investigated for impairment: police

A single vehicle crash into a hydro pole caused a power outage Saturday morning, Jan. 4, in Abbotsford.

Abbotsford Police were on scene at George Ferguson Way and Tims Street for the crash, which involved one vehicle and its driver around 9:30 a.m.

"No injuries have been reported, but the driver of the offending vehicle is being investigated for impaired driving," posted AbbyPD online.

Lane closures are in effect, but George Ferguson Way is open in both directions.

Power has been out since the crash in the area north of Mt. Waddington Avenue, east of Clearbrook Road, west of Trethewey Street, and south of Mouat Drive, impacting about 680 BC Hydro customers.

No estimated time for power restoration has been posted. People can find updates online at bchydro.com
