The Abbotsford Police Department arrested a man on Monday (Feb. 10) for his third impaired-driving offence in less than three years.

A man was arrested for his third impaired-driving offence in less than three years in Abbotsford on Monday morning (Feb. 10) after he attempted to flee from police.

A social media post from the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) states that the incident occurred at around 9 a.m.

The 52-year-old man's class 1 licence – for commercial driving – has now been suspended and he is required to attend court, police said.

The APD said officers have removed 135 impaired drivers from local roads in the first 41 days of the year.

"Despite the penalties and consequences, impaired driving remains a persistent issue," the post states. "... Our officers will continue to conduct enforcement with a zero-tolerance approach."
