The boil-water notice for some households in Abbotsford has been rescinded.

The boil-water notice in Abbotsford for households in the Clearbrook Waterworks District has been rescinded.

CWD officials stated that they received the go-ahead from Fraser Health at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 13).

The boil-water notice was issued on Nov. 8.

According to a notice from CWD, they have taken the necessary steps to remedy the earlier situation and the Fraser Health Authority has confirmed that extensive sampling shows no signs of contamination and that the drinking water is now safe to drink.

It's recommended to run cold water faucets for one minute before using water to ensure all contaminated water is removed. CWD also advised users to run drinking fountains for one minute before using the water, flush all garden hoses by running cold water through them for one minute and drain and refill hot water heaters set below 45˚C (normal setting is 60˚C).

For more information, contact Clearbrook Waterworks at 604.308.6161, email office@clearbrookwaterworks.com, visit their website at clearbrookwaterworks.com or visit their Facebook page at facebook.com/ClearbrookWaterworks.

The Clearbrook Waterworks District has been named the best in the world seven times in the annual Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting event.

The Clearbrook tap water is pumped directly from a 100-square-kilometre underground aquifer to more than 15,000 people. No chlorine, fluoride or other chemicals are used.

The rest of Abbotsford gets chemically treated water mainly from Norrish Creek in Mission.
