People travelling to Abbotsford or through the Fraser Valley this weekend should be aware that roads could be clogged with extra traffic due to the Abbotsford International Airshow, the city advises.
The annual airshow runs from Friday, Aug. 9 to Sunday, Aug. 11, resulting in additional traffic on Highway 1 and major routes through the community.
The city encourages those attending the event to carpool with friends and family and use public transit when possible.
A free BC Transit shuttle to the airshow runs on Saturday and Sunday between 9:40 a.m. and 6:05 p.m. and connects to route 66 Fraser Valley Express.
The shuttle will leave from the Bourquin Exchange, and stop at Old Yale Road at Clearbrook, Maclure Road at Townline, and Highstreet Shopping Centre before arriving at the Abbotsford Airshow site.
The first three shuttles of the day depart Highstreet Shopping Centre at 9:40, 10 and 10:20 a.m.
