Then there were two.

A last-minute change saw the B.C. Greens candidate dropping out of the race suddenly in Chilliwack-Cultus Lake, leaving two candidates.

Former interim director of B.C. Greens Molly McKay had been announced last week, on the party website, as the candidate running in Chilliwack-Cultus Lake, with Tim Cooper, UFV professor emeritus, named as B.C. Greens candidate for Chilliwack-North.

But as of the official Sept. 28 deadline, McKay's name was no longer on the list of Greens candidates. That leaves NDP candidate Kelli Paddon and B.C. Conservatives candidate Á’a:líya Warbus in the race to become the MLA on Oct. 19.

The electoral district of Chilliwack North has four candidates standing for election, in alphabetic order:

Tim Cooper (B.C. Greens) , Dan Coulter (NDP), Dan Grice (Independent), Heather Maahs (B.C. Conservatives).

Candidate nominations closed at 1 p.m. on September 28, 2024, according to Elections BC.
