An Abbotsford resident collected a cool $500,000 after winning big on a Daily Grand draw on Jan. 15.
Mezhgan Azmudin initially did not believe she had won that big prize after checking online and returned to the Chevron gas station on South Fraser Way and Janzen Street to make sure.
It was in that gas station where it was confirmed she had won $500,000. She now plans to invite family from out of town to visit her and also will be bringing her children with her to visit Dubai.
“It feels good,” she said of the win. “I am happy, especially being able to bring my parents here.”
She added that her brother and his friends were also very excited to hear the news of the big win.
According to BCLC, B.C. lottery players redeemed more than $15 million in winnings from Daily Grand in 2023.
Daily Grand is a nationwide lottery game drawn on Mondays and Thursdays after 7:30 p.m., with a top prize of $1,000 a day for life.
